- EF-CA-18-01 Survey Data Support Officer

Based in the Research area and working across all three Research units, the Survey Data Support Officer will support the processing of three major EU surveys: European Company Survey, European Working Conditions Survey, European Quality of Life Survey. The duties of the post include:

• Supporting the data management process during fieldwork, preparatory work for data analysis, data extraction and compilation of data from the surveys on request (from internal or external stakeholders);
• Processing and organising the data collected throughout the process of survey implementation:
• numerical data collected as part of the survey interview;
• numerical data recorded throughout the data collection process;
• non-numerical metadata collected or compiled during the preparation and implementation of cross-national surveys (e.g. questionnaire items in different languages, fieldwork instructions, documenting potentially influential national and international events taking place during fieldwork etc);
  • Supporting the preparatory work for the survey data analysis (data cleaning);
  • Assisting the survey teams with the analysis and visualisation of data;
  • Other tasks, appropriate to the role.

• Experience with quality control, data checking, cleaning of large scale datasets, organising and analysing databases;
• Experience in data extraction and generating tables;
• Proven high level of computer literacy (not limited to MS Office), including data analytical tools (such as SPSS, Stata, or R).
• Good understanding of survey methodologies;
• Knowledge of data visualisation;
• Familiarity with procedures to ensure confidentiality of data.
